We are really excited to be able to tell you that Hull Kung Fu will be joining us at The Hull Show in August. They will be carrying out demonstrations and on hand to answer any questions you may have regarding the martial art or the training they can offer.
Hull Kung Fu has been running for over 12 years and is managed by Mike Mitchell (4th Degree Black Sash), Odette Mitchell (3rd Degree Black Sash), Laurence Newton (3rd Degree Black Sash), Ricky Robson (3rd Degree Black Sash), and Martin Robson (2nd Degree Black Sash). Hull Kung Fu is a voluntary non-profit club dedicated to teaching confidence building, promoting social inclusion, explaining the bad effects of drugs and bullying and teaching self-defence and fitness.
Hull Kung Fu is not just a martial art. Kung Fu means “master of”, and the instructors are committed to making young disadvantaged people masters of whatever they want to be by just helping them achieve their aims.
Hull Kung Fu also teach voluntary Tai Chi to the NHS, Blind Institutes and various schools in the Hull and East Riding areas. They also deliver free Chinese Massage, hot stones and ear candling courses to all the young people in the club, which can result in a recognised Diploma to help with employment in later life.
With this and so many more demonstrations and entertainment lined up as well as stalls of all sorts to browse, community groups to get involved with, food, drink and live music, you’d be mad to miss it!
Entry to the show is free. The funfair runs from 9th – 13th August and The Hull Show is open on 12th & 13th August, all East Park, Holderness Road.
